Communication involves both parties. The person saying the words, and the person receiving and then responding to said words. And we all have a choice as to how we interpret and respond to any given communication. We are not passive robots simply receiving data.
It is something that has always fascinated me. If a certain approach has been “successful” for a person, in that they’ve been promoted and achieved

How you go about a redundancy can largely determine the ongoing success of it. As usual, it’s not rocket science; just some planning and good communication.
The thing is – leadership is more than the stirring speeches. Do they help? Of course. But are they the full story? Not at all.

Ultimately – there are many situations where the reality is that your own personal control or influence is limited at best. Understanding that as a reality allows you to make decisions around how you handle yourself going forward.
